This video is helpful for people living with diabetes and a resource for patients including those looking for information about diabetes treatment. Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, patient-centered approach that strengthens motivation and commitment to behavior change. Increasingly, health care providers and peer counselors are finding this technique a valuable tool working with people with diabetes in both clinical and community settings. Exploration of core values helps patients develop their own strategies for making positive changes and improving health outcomes. Webinar presenters shared both the merits of MI and some practical examples of its application.
