American Diabetes Association

The ADA serves a mission to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. We fund research to prevent, cure and manage diabetes. We deliver services to hundreds of communities. We provide objective and credible information. We give voice to those denied their rights because of diabetes. The moving force behind the work of the Association is a network of more than one million volunteers, a membership of more than 500,000 people with diabetes, their families and caregivers, a professional society of nearly 14,000 health care professionals, as well as more than 800 staff members.

Beyond Type 1

Founded in 2015 by Juliet de Baubigny, Nick Jonas, Sarah Lucas, and Sam Talbot, Beyond Type 1 is leveraging the power of social media and technology, changing what it means to live with a chronic disease. By educating the global community about this autoimmune disease, as well as providing resources and supporting those living with Type 1 diabetes, Beyond Type 1 is bridging the gap from diagnosis to cure, empowering people to live well today and funding a better tomorrow.

Children’s Diabetes Foundation

The Children’s Diabetes Foundation was established by Barbara and Marvin Davis in 1977 in Denver as a non-profit organization dedicated solely to the support of research in diabetes and to provide the best possible clinical and educational programs for people with the disease. The Foundation’s mission is to raise funds to support the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes, where thousands of patients of all ages from all over the world receive the finest diabetes care available.

Children with Diabetes

Children with Diabetes is an Ohio-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing education and support to families living with type 1 diabetes. Our official corporate name is T-1 Today, Inc. (Ohio Charter 2231845) with a Trade Name Filing for Children with Diabetes. Children with Diabetes aims to provide support, education and inspiration to empower families and all people living with diabetes to enjoy healthy, enriched lives.

Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation

The Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation® (DRWF) is a 501c3 non-profit organization, established in 1993. Our mission is to help find the cure for diabetes and until that goal is achieved, to provide the care needed to combat the detrimental and life-threatening complications of this terrible disease. Since our inception we have awarded more than $25 million in research and educational grants for the cure to world-renowned clinics, hospitals and institutions.

The Diabetes Research Institute and Foundation

The Diabetes Research Institute leads the world in cure-focused research. As the largest and most comprehensive research center dedicated to curing diabetes, the DRI is aggressively working to develop a biological cure by restoring natural insulin production and normalizing blood sugar levels without imposing other risks. The mission of the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation is to provide the Diabetes Research Institute with the funding necessary to cure diabetes now. The Diabetes Research Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine leads the world in cure-focused research.

DiabetesSisters

DiabetesSisters offers a range of education and support services to help women of all ages with all types of diabetes live healthier, fuller lives. We understand the fear and isolation that often comes with living with diabetes because we are an organization that is managed by women who are living with diabetes. DiabetesSisters recognizes that emotional and peer support is vitally important to a woman’s overall wellbeing. Through DiabetesSisters opportunities for peer support and education, women form a special bond and can freely share information, helpful tips, and stories of hope.

The diaTribe Foundation

The diaTribe Foundation was founded with a mission to improve the lives of people with diabetes, prediabetes and obesity, and to advocate for action. we’re committed to helping people with diabetes live happier, healthier, and more hopeful lives through our diaTribe publication, which now reaches over a million and a half people every year. We also aim to influence the national conversation, bringing the patient point of view to the FDA and to other policy makers, improving diabetes literacy in the media, and convening the world’s brightest minds to develop innovative solutions.

JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. Our strength lies in our exclusive focus and singular influence on the worldwide effort to end T1D. Our mission: Accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications. JDRF works every day to change the reality of this disease for millions of people—and to prevent anyone else from ever knowing it—by funding research, advocating for government support of research and new therapies, ensuring new therapies come to market and connecting and engaging the T1D community.

Joslin research is at the forefront of discovery aimed at preventing and curing diabetes. The Joslin clinic develops innovative patient therapies that immeasurably improve the lives of people with diabetes. Joslin is an independent, non-profit institution affiliated with Harvard Medical School, and one of only 11 NIH-designated Diabetes Research Centers in the U.S.
